How do I choose the right Kadai kit?

Each Kadai kit is designed for a different style of outdoor cooking, entertaining and garden setup. The Recycled Kadai and Classic Kadai both work as a barbecue and fire pit, with the main difference being their finish: the Recycled Kadai has a more rustic, characterful look, while the Classic Kadai has a cleaner, more contemporary feel. The Plancha Kadai is designed for flat-plate cooking and social grilling, while the Travel Kadai and Table Kadai are compact options that work beautifully for smaller spaces or as an addition to a larger Kadai setup.

What does my Kadai Kit come with?

Each Kadai Barbecue Fire Pit Kit includes components designed to help you use your bowl for both cooking and gathering around the fire. The Classic and Recycled Kadai kits include a high stand and Holi Grill for barbecuing, as well as a low stand for use as a fire pit. The Plancha Kadai comes as a complete kit with a thick mild steel cooking plate, 70cm fire bowl, limestone top and mango wood base. The Travel Kadai includes a stand, grill, duffle bag and tongs, and the Table Kadai includes a cork mat, stand, grill and tongs. Please note, the Recycled Kadai Barbecue comes with a high stand for barbecuing only and does not include a low stand. Please read about what is included on each products page.

How will my Kadai age?

Surface rust is a natural and expected characteristic of steel when exposed to heat, fire and outdoor conditions. This does not affect the performance or lifespan of your Kadai and is part of the authentic character of the product. With regular use and proper care, your Kadai will develop a unique oxidised patina over time.

What fuel should I use in my Kadai barbecue?

Kadai barbecues can be used with suitable charcoal, dry seasoned wood or a combination of both, depending on the style of cooking and heat you want to create. Charcoal is ideal for steady barbecue cooking, while wood and embers bring extra flavour, atmosphere and live-fire character. Always avoid treated, painted or chemically processed wood, and allow the fuel to burn down properly before cooking over the fire.

What are Kadai Beads and what do they do?

Kadai Beads sit at the base of the bowl and play an important role in protecting and maintaining your Kadai. They help insulate the base of the bowl from direct heat, improve airflow and support drainage during use. This improves combustion, protects the bowl from excessive heat stress and helps prevent moisture from collecting at the base, so the beads should always remain in the bowl when your Kadai is in use.

Do Kadai products come with a warranty?

Kadai bowls come with a one-year warranty from the point of purchase. This can be extended to five years by completing the warranty registration form on our website. Over time, your Kadai will develop a natural oxidised finish, which is part of the product’s character and is not considered a fault. Read our full warranty policy here.
