Once purchased, responsibility for the safe and proper use, maintenance, and storage of the Firebowl lies with the purchaser. The purchaser is responsible for ensuring safe use of the product and that all users are informed of these safety instructions.
- Outdoor Use Only - The Kadai Firebowl must only be used outdoors in a well-ventilated area. Never use it indoors, in tents, conservatories, or enclosed spaces. Improper use may cause serious health risks, including carbon monoxide poisoning, and fire hazards.
- Stable Positioning - Always place the Firebowl on a flat, secure, and fire-resistant surface such as stone, gravel, or compacted soil. Avoid using directly on wooden decking, dry grass, or other flammable surfaces without due care or suitable protection.
- Safe Distance - Position the Firebowl at least 2 metres away from buildings, fences, overhanging branches, or any flammable materials.
- Supervision Required - Never leave the Firebowl unattended when lit or while still hot. Keep children, pets, and vulnerable individuals at a safe distance at all times.
- User Responsibility - Ensure that anyone operating or cooking on the Firebowl is fully briefed on correct setup, safe usage, and extinguishing methods. Failure to follow instructions may result in injury or damage.
- Protective Gear - Always use heat-resistant gloves and appropriate tools when handling hot components or cookware.
- Cool Down Completely - Allow the Firebowl and its contents to cool fully before cleaning or storing.
- No Accelerants - Never use petrol, paraffin, or spirit-based products to light or reignite your fire. Only use firelighters compliant with EN 1860-3 standards.
- Weather Awareness - Do not use during windy or extremely dry conditions that could cause sparks to spread. Ensure there is adequate airflow and clear surroundings.
- Fire Safety - Keep a bucket of water, sand, or a fire extinguisher nearby in case of emergency.
- Ash Disposal - Once completely cooled (at least 24–48 hours), remove ash using a heat-proof container. Never dispose of hot ash in plastic bins or near flammable materials.
- Lighting a Fire Responsibly - Never light a fire during periods of drought, strong winds, or dry ground conditions where vegetation is at risk of catching fire. Always follow current local or government guidance regarding outdoor fires and fire bans.

Recycled & Classic Kadai
Lighting Your Kadai as a Barbecue
Start by placing 2 to 3 natural firelighters in the centre of the bowl, directly on top of the Kadai Beads.
Fill your chimney starter with English lumpwood charcoal, just below the rim. Carefully light the firelighters using long safety matches or a taper. Once lit, place the chimney starter directly over the firelighters.
Allow the charcoal to ignite for around 15-20 minutes, until the bottom layer begins to turn white indicating it’s ready.
Wearing heat-resistant gloves, carefully pour the hot charcoal into the centre of the bowl. Be mindful of falling embers or debris.
Add a small layer of fresh charcoal over the hot coals to extend the burn time. Then rest the Holi Grill into position and your Kadai is ready to cook.
Lighting Your Kadai as a Firepit
Begin by placing 2-3 natural firelighters in the centre of the bowl, directly on top of the Kadai Beads.
Using dry kindling, build a small Jenga-style tower around the firelighters, stack the pieces in alternating layers, about four tiers high.
Next, take several medium-sized logs and lean them diagonally from the layer of beads towards the top of the kindling stack, creating a tepee-style structure.
With long matches or a taper, carefully light the firelighters at the base of the tower.
After around 5 minutes, the fire should be well established. At this stage, you can begin to add larger logs to keep the flames going.
For best results, always use seasoned or kiln-dried wood to ensure a cleaner burn with minimal smoke.
How to Safely Leave Your Firebowl
Never leave the Kadai unattended while the fire is still burning or the bowl remains hot. Always stay nearby until the flames have completely died down and the bowl is entirely cool to the touch.
Allow the fire to burn out naturally. Do not use water to extinguish the fire, as this may damage the bowl or surrounding area.
Remove any accessories such as grills, tools, or cookware and allow them to cool separately in a safe space. Do not leave them in or near the bowl while it is cooling.
Leave the ash to cool completely inside the bowl. Do not attempt to clean or dispose of ash until it is completly cold.
Never dispose of hot or warm ash in a plastic bin.
Once you’re confident the fire has predomintaly cooled, gently place the Kadai Shield over the bowl to protect it from the elements.
Do not handle, clean, or move the Firebowl until it has cooled entirely.
By following these steps, you help to ensure safe use and extend the life of your Kadai Firebowl.

Travel Kadai
Lighting Your Firebowl
Place 2 to 3 natural firelighters in the centre of the Kadai, directly on top of the beads.
Build a small Jenga-style tower of kindling around the firelighters, stacking four layers high.
Lean several medium-sized pieces of dry wood diagonally from the edge of the bowl, resting their tops on the kindling tower.
Using long safety matches, carefully light the firelighters at the base of the structure.
After approximately 5 minutes, once the fire is well established, top up with additional kiln-dried wood or charcoal as needed.
Safely Storing Your Travel Kadai
Never leave your Travel Kadai unattended while the fire is still burning or the bowl remains hot. Always stay nearby until the flames have completely died down and the bowl is entirely cool.
Allow the fire to burn out naturally. Do not use water to extinguish it, as rapid cooling can cause ash to fly out of the bowl. Always allow time for the fire to die down safely and for the embers to fade completely.
Remove any accessories such as grills, tools, or cookware and place them in a safe, heat-resistant space to cool. Do not leave them in or near the bowl while it is cooling, and never place hot items directly on the ground or flammable surfaces.
Never attempt to clean or dispose of ash until it is entirely cold. Once cooled, transfer the ash carefully into a heat-resistant container for safe disposal. When using your Travel Kadai away from home, always bring a suitable container with you and take all ash and debris with you leaving no trace behind.
Using the Travel Kadai
If using your Travel Kadai in a public or natural setting, make sure you are in a location where fires are permitted and that you have permission from the landowner. When on a beach, only use it where fires are allowed and always check local council guidance beforehand. For campsites or festivals, confirm with organisers that open fires are permitted, as restrictions often apply.
Never light a fire during periods of drought, strong winds, or dry ground conditions where vegetation is at risk of catching fire. Always follow current local or government guidance regarding outdoor fires and fire bans. Ensure your Kadai is placed on a flat, non-flammable surface and kept well clear of trees, tents, and other flammable materials.
Once you are confident the fire is fully out, the ash is cold, and no embers remain, carefully pack away your Travel Kadai. Ensure all parts are completely cool before handling or placing them inside the Duffle Bag, as residual heat can cause damage or pose a safety risk.
By following these steps, you ensure the safe, responsible, and respectful use of your Travel Kadai, protecting both your surroundings and the longevity of your firebowl.
